Fancy Vehicle Numbers Just a Click Away as Pune RTO Goes Fully Online
Pune, 1st April 2026: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) of Pune, will roll out a fully online “faceless” service for reserving preferred vehicle registration numbers from April 2, 2026.
According to officials, the service will go live at 4 pm and will allow citizens to book fancy or choice registration numbers for new vehicles without visiting the RTO office. The process will be entirely digital, and no offline fee payments will be accepted.
Applicants can access the service from home through the official portal (https://fancy.parivahan.gov.in). The registration process will require OTP-based verification using an Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
Officials said that applicants will be able to reserve preferred numbers under the newly introduced ‘MH12 ZM’ series through this system.
The move is aimed at simplifying the process and enhancing convenience by eliminating the need for physical visits to the RTO office.
