First Electronic Interlocking on main line at Khandala, some trains to be affected on May 18

Mumbai, May 16, 2019 : The Central Railway will commission Mumbai Division’s first Electronic Interlocking on main line (outside suburban) at Khandala on 18.5.2019 by operating a block from 11.15 am to 2.45 pm.

This electronic interlocking (EI) enables improved safety, better technology instead of electro mechanical relay besides economy of design are some of its main features. The works include wiring of 12 point machines, testing of signals, points, tracks from VDU and commissioning of EI at Khandala.

Due to this work, the train running pattern will be as under:

11014 Coimbatore-LTT Express JCO 17.5.2019 will be regulated in Pune Division for 3 hours

11026 Pune-Bhusaval Express JCO 18.5.2019 will be diverted via Daund-Manmad

11017 LTT-Karaikkal Express JCO 18.5.2019 will be regulated at Bhivpuri Road for 65 minutes

16351 CSMT-Nagercoil Express JCO 18.5.2019 will be regulated at Neral for 73 minutes.

17031 CSMT-Hyderabad Express JCO 18..5.2019 will be regulated at Vangani for 57 minutes

Cancellation of trains

51318/51317 Pune-Panvel-Pune Passengers JCO 18.5.2019 will remain cancelled.

“Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused due to this block. These infrastructure blocks are essential for future benefits”, stated a press release from Central Railway.
