FLO Pune celebrates Power of Women

Pune, March 9, 2021: With an aim to inspire and upgrade skills of girl child in the field of technology, the FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO), Pune Chapter on the occasion of International Women’s Day financially supported girl students from BT Sahani School, Pune, who are being educated under an initiative called ‘Girls who build robots’ by Robotex India.

First-of-its-kind in Maharashtra, the concept brings AI, ML, steam education via the medium of Robotics, integrates technology into schools, while increasing the effectiveness of future skills at an early stage. Through this, FLO Pune will support 200 girl students who will be learning coding, artificial intelligence, IoT and robotics digitally by providing them with essential tool kits.

Payal Rajpal, Robotex India Director said, “Robotics education will prove to be an essential bridge to future employability and provide a STEAM-minded education approach to the rural students. These young minds are coached on diverse subjects such as Coding, AI, Robotics and IOT thereby becoming a part of the young, leading, and diverse communities of technology via Robotex National and International Championships.”

Dr. Aneeta Sanas, Chairperso, FICCI FLO, Pune Chapter said, “As FLO Pune, we are happy to make a difference and impact these young minds with a platform for future innovative ideas and technologies.”

Apart from that, FLO Pune on International Women’s Day also distributed internship completion certificates to 350 women from the Khadki Cantonment Board who successfully completed ‘A Life Skill Training Program’ conducted by Hamara Bachpan Trust in association with Godrej Properties.

Dr. Aneeta Sanas said “Out of the 350 women we already have 102 women who are skilled enough to seek employment opportunities thus enabling them to be financially independent.”
