Flutists will pay tribute to Pt. Pannalal Ghosh

Pune, November 16, 2018 : To celebrate birth anniversary of the flute maestro Pt. Pannalal Ghosh, ‘Amulya Jyoti’ and ‘Keshav Venu foundation’ have come together to organize a unique musical event.

The event named ‘Amulya Jyoti- Keshav Venu Sangeet Mahotsav’ will bring flutists and other musical instrument players on the same dais to present their mesmerizing performances. The festival will take place on Saturday, November 17, at 5 pm, at Shakuntala Jagannath Shetti Auditorium, Dr. Kalmadi Shama Rao High School, Erandwane. Entry to the event is free and open to all. In the same event, renowned flute player Pt. Amar Nath will be felicitated by ‘Pt. Pannalal Ghosh Venu Ratna Puraskar’. The information is given by Dipak Bhanuse, President, Keshav Venu foundation.

The attraction of the event will be ‘Rutu Chakra’, where different flute players will collectively present 6 seasons (Rutu) through 12 Ragas in their flute performances. Dr. Pt. Keshav Ginde, renowned flute player and founder of Amulya Jyoti foundation and Pt. Rajendra Kulkarni, renowned flute player will be performing along with 18 of their disciples. The 6 seasons- Basant, Grishma, Varsha, Sharad, Hemant and Shishir will be performed through the 12 corresponding Ragas- Raag Basant Bahar, Raag Gara, Raag Vrundavani Sarang, Raag Shudhha Sarang, Raag Megh, Raag Malhar, Raag Miyan Malhar, Raag Malkans, Raag Jog Kans, Raag Pahadi, Raag Shri and Raag Bhairav. The flute players performing ‘Rutuchakra’ will be accompanied by Atul Kamble (Tabla), Govind Bhilare (Pakhawaj), Aman Varkhedkar and Aditya Pawar (Keyboard).

The event will also present Satar performance by Dr. Pt. Nishindra Kinjalk, Flute performance by famous flutist Pt. Parasnath and Tabla performances by Dr. Pt. Arvindkumar Azad and Pt. Aditya Kalyanpur.

On Sunday, November 18, flute enthusiasts will get an opportunity to participate in a workshop conducted by Pt. Parasnath. This workshop will take place at Sargam Palace, Near Hotel Sai Sagar on Baner Road. Entry to the workshop will be free and the registration can be done at the venue of Amulya Jyoti- Keshav Venu Mahotsav.
