For Interdisciplinary Courses, Pune University To Open Various Schools

Pune, December 15, 2020: Paving way for the interdisciplinary courses, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) will now have various schools wherein various departments will form one department. It will help the students to pursue interdisciplinary courses. 

There are 52 departments at SPPU and now these departments have been converted into 18 schools. Several universities have schools thus NAAC had recommended to have schools in SSPU and accordingly we have created them. The school will have a director, said SPPU registrar Prafulla Pawar.

Aim behind the school

• To have an equivalent curriculum, to teach basic sciences together
• Push for inter-disciplinary research
• Choice-based credit system will give variety for students to select the subjects
