Former BJP MP Sanjay Kakade arrested and released on bail

Pune, November 6, 2020: Former BJP Rajya Sabha MP from Pune and his wife Usha Kakade were arrested by the Chaturshringi police. He was later presented in Shivajinagar court and released on bail. The action was taken by the police in the case of threatening to kill his brother-in-law.

Former Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kakade and his brother-in-law Yuvraj Dhamale were in the construction business together till 2010. But for some reason, the two started a separate business. Then in 2018, Yuvraj Dhamale was threatened for his life. Yuvraj Dhamale lodged a complaint in the Chaturshringi police station. On Thursday, Senior Police Inspector Anil Shewale arrested Sanjay Kakade and Usha Kakade and produced them in court. The court granted bail to Sanjay Kakade by charging Rs 15,000.

In this case, former MP Sanjay Kakade said, “We have a family dispute. The complainant now alleges that he received the threat two years ago. In these two years, my wife and I have not even had a simple conversation with the complainant, so I wonder why he has made this allegation now. The court proceedings have started and the court today granted us bail. We are following the court process.”
