Pune, 21 April 2023: The Regional Transport Authority has denied aggregator licenses to four companies in the three-wheeler autorickshaw category for failing to meet the necessary provisions in the ‘Motor Vehicle Aggregate Guidelines-2020’. The companies are M/s ANI Technology Pvt. Ltd. (parent company of Ola), M/s Uber India Systems Pvt. Ltd., M/s Kevolution Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Pune, and M/s Ropan Transportation Service Pvt. Ltd (parent company of Rapido).

On 20 April, the Pune Regional Transport Authority, presided over by Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, considered the applications for aggregator licenses from the four companies. M/s ANI Technology Pvt. Ltd. Pune and M/s Uber India Systems Pvt Ltd had applied for both categories of four-wheeled light motor vehicles and three-wheeled auto-rickshaws, while M/s Kevolution Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Pune and M/s Ropan Transportation Service Pvt. Ltd. Pune had applied only for the three-wheeler auto-rickshaw category.

All four applications were submitted under the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines, 2020, but the authority has decided to deny aggregator licenses to all four companies in the auto-rickshaw category.

Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Ajit Shinde also informed that the authority will seek guidance from the government regarding the issue of aggregator licenses for handling four-wheeler light motor vehicles.
