Fr. Schoch Memorial Inter School Hockey 2024: Sant Tukaram HS, SAKEM enter last-4, join St. Vincent’s
Pimpri, 30th November 2024: Unbeaten Sant.Tukaram H.S from Pool-A along with Shree Anantrao Kulkarni English Medium School (SAKEM), Narayangaon from Pool-B and St. Vincent’s HS (Pool-D) confirmed spots in the semifinals in the of the Under-14 Boys section in the Fr. Schoch Memorial Inter School Hockey 2024 at the Maj Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar, Pimpri on Saturday.
The tournament is being organised by Loyola High School along with ELAN (Ex-Loyola Alumni Network) and under the aegis of Hockey Maharashtra for school children for the fifth year in succession.
On Saturday, SAKEM, Narayangaon logged a 1-1 draw against Col Bhagat H.S after Vikas Divakare (2nd) and Yash Shrigadi (25th) netted for either teams to remain unbeaten in Pool-A.
In Pool-B, Shree Anantrao Kulkarni English Medium School (SAKEM), Narayangaon who already qualified had no matches to play and qualified having won on the opening day.
St. Vincent’s HS took their semifinal shot after topping Pool-D having accumulated 4 points on Day-1. Today was a rest day for St.Vincent’s H>S>
Later Pool-C, had Modern H.S down Janta H.S 1-0 after Sahil Belbhandre (55th – p.c) netted the winner for their first win. Modern HS now await their fate of a semifinal berth in a face-off with unbeaten Muktai School (2 wins) on Sunday.
The day had just 2 matches played with the rest of the teams calling it off.
In a Pool-D, inconsequential match MCES, Pune and Ramchandra Gaikwad H.S played out a 0-0 draw and split points. St.Vincent’s HS had already qualified for the semifinals from the group.
