Free Eye Camp at Punyadham Ashram an overwhelming success!
· Over 200 patients benefit from the free eye camp
The Free Eye Camp organized by Punyadham Ashram, Pisoli, Pune in association with Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Pune on Sunday 15thApril at Punyadham received an overwhelming response.
The camp was coordinated by their Medical Director, Brig Y.D.Singh (Retd) and the specialists from AFMC, headed by Brig P.S.Moulik with his efficient team of 25 doctors & assistants.
Starting from 8am to 4pm, there was a continous outpour people walking in for a free check up and assistance. Ashram’s own senior citizens, staff & labour, library students and people from areas of Kondhwa, Undri & Pisoli benefitted from this camp.
The camp was inaugurated by Brig Moulik with Maa Krishna Kashyap, Chairperson, Punyadham Ashram. Brig Y.D.Singh, President Shri Sadananda Shetty, Secretary Ghanshyam Zawar, Ganesh Kamthe & Ramesh Grover were also present. Everyone who came registered his/her name & got a complete checkup from the doctors using ‘state of the art’ & advanced equipment. Those requiring medications for treatment of eye problems were given the necessary medicines free on the spot. The patients with a need for spectacles will get free specs in a day or two, and those requiring cataract operations or any further investigations are further referred to reputed hospitals. All this was absolutely free and sponsored by Punyadham Ashram. In all over 200 patients were checked that day.
All arrangements were made for the ease & comfort of the patients, the team of doctors & the volunteers. Refreshments were served to all patients & doctors at regular intervals. Maa and Brig Y D Singh felicitated each of the doctors & their assistants and they thanked Brig Moulik and his team for helping Punyadham in this noble venture. Maa said that their hard work & dedicated service to our nation is exemplary but their service at the eye camp, helped reach out to all those to whom good quality eye care was out of reach! Brig Moulik thanked Punyadham for giving them an opportunity to serve the deserving people of areas around Punyadham. He expressed his admiration towards the noble work that Punyadham is involved with over all these years and making a difference in improving the lives of multitude of people. He also appreciated that the beautiful serene environs of Punyadham gives so much peace & happiness that one is drawn to it from heart & soul.
