‘From repairing satellites to Space Tourism’- Many space related business opportunities will be explored

Pune, August 3, 2018 : Space has always been a very fascinating subject for mankind. And with the advances in research and technology, It is becoming an important area for businesses opportunities too. Explained Dr. Pramod Kale, Former Director, Space Applications Centre and Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, ISRO.

‘‘Along with the repairs and refueling of the space satellites and planetary exploration, many other opportunities like even the space agriculture and space tourism will be looked at and explored in future.’’ He said.

He was talking in a lecture ‘Our Future Space’ organized by Pune International Centre (PIC) under their new initiative ‘Crazy About Science and Technology’. This was the first lecture in this lecture series related to science and technology. Prashant Girbane, Honorary Director, PIC, Prof. Amitav Malik, Chairman, Programs committee, PIC, Ravi Pandit, renowned industrialist and member, PIC were present among the dignitaries.

‘‘There can be many space related opportunities in future. That can include using solar cells for orbital maneuvering, opportunities in vertical take off and vertical landing, planetary exploration with landers and rovers, Space Debris destruction using lasers and architecture of space capsules and space habitats too are some of the important verticals.’’ Dr. Kale said.

He talked about different space related career areas for students. ‘‘Building small satellites, Space Insurance, Space Law, research about Space Food, Space Medicine and even the Space Application can emerge as good career opportunities for students in future.’’ He mentioned.
