From This Year, Grandparents’ Day Will Be Celebrated In Schools Maharashtra: School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar

Mumbai, 7th February 2023: Joint family system has a unique importance in Indian culture. Grandparents are the pillars of this family system. School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar said that to honour them, Grandparents Day will be celebrated in all schools on 10th September this year. On this occasion, various activities will be organized in the school with grandparents.

Minister Kesarkar interacted with reporters at the Ministry today. Giving information about the decision regarding the increase in the remuneration of the teaching staff, Kesarkar said, according to the decision taken on 22nd December 2022, the remuneration of the teaching staff in the primary, secondary and junior colleges of the state has been increased.

According to this, education servants in primary and upper primary classes will be given revised remuneration of Rs 16 thousand, secondary education servants will be given Rs 18 thousand and higher secondary/junior college education servants will be given revised remuneration of Rs 20 thousand. This honorarium is being implemented from 1st January 2023.

The remuneration of non-teaching staff has also been increased and full-time librarians will get Rs 14,000, full-time laboratory assistants will get Rs 12,000, junior clerks will get Rs 10,000 and grade IV employees will get Rs 8,000 only on compassionate grounds.

A Marathi language building will be constructed on behalf of the Marathi language department and all the offices related to the Marathi language will be housed together in this building. Similarly, Kesarkar said that facilities such as an auditorium, a well-equipped library, and accommodation facilities for literary persons coming from outside Mumbai will be provided to organize small meetings.

Minister Kesarkar said that as per the new educational policy, priority will be given to education through the mother tongue so that the students studying in other languages do not face any problems in the 10th standard, whether a category can be given for the Marathi language like the environmental subject.

On the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Mata Ramai Ambedkar, Kesarkar said that various programs are being organized in Mumbai as well as in her native town of Vanand in the Ratnagiri district. On this occasion, a hostel with a capacity of 250 students in Chembur will be given the name of Mata Ramai and women who have done remarkable work will be felicitated and various activities will be implemented in schools throughout the year, he informed.
