FTII launches short courses in Acting, Screen Play Writing and Film Appreciation in Mumbai

Mumbai | May 3, 2017 : Film & Television Institute of India (FTII) and the Somaiya Group of Institutes have joined hands to conduct short courses in Acting, Screenplay Writing and Film Appreciation.

B P Singh, producer-director of India’s longest running and popular serial CID and former Vice Chairman of FTII, formally launched the courses in the presence of Dr Rajan Welukar, Provost of Somaiya Vidyavihar.  Bhupendra Kainthola, Director FTII Pune; Dr Vijay Joshi, Principal,  K J Somaiya College of Science and Commerce and Dr Narendra Pathak, Principal of S K Somaiya Vinaymandir were also present.  Suraj Rana, the representative of Canon India, which is the Technology Partner for SKIFT was also present.

The courses which began today, will continue till 30 May 2017. Each course will also see a Masterclass conducted by a leading film industry talent.

FTII is presently in talks with several state governments, Universities and NGOs to conduct short courses across the country. With the objective to make available quality and affordable film and  television  education to all, FTII has roped in Canon as the Technology Partner, Yasuka & Katban as Lighting Partners, as part of its new outreach initiative SKIFT – Skilling India in Film & Television.
