Global Indian International School Singapore announces fully financed ‘Global Citizen Scholarship’ of INR 4.2 crore for 10 students from India

Mumbai, January 10, 2018: Global Indian International School (GIIS), has announced a fully financed annual scholarship programme of approximately INR 4.2 crore across its GIIS campuses and other Indian schools. The GIIS –Global Citizen Scholarship programme in its 9th year will give 10 Indian students the opportunity to learn at the state-of-the-art GIIS Singapore campus. GIIS, a leading international school in India has invested over 7 million SGD (approximately INR 30 Crore) in the Global Citizen Scholarship since 2008 which has benefited over 80 Indian students.

Students from across India can register for the two years no bond scholarship programme on the GIIS’s official website for scholarships (www.giisscholarships.org) before February 28th, 2018.

Global Citizen Scholarship is offered to students who have cleared Class 10 with strong academic and co-curricular credentials and are ready to pursue either a Junior College in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or a Sr. Secondary in the CBSE board at GIIS campus in Singapore. Students, who have been part of the GIIS Global Citizen Scholarship programme, have successfully been placed in top 50 universities across the world.

The selection procedure involves written tests on general ability, Mathematics and English. The students who qualify in the first round will be interviewed via Skype. Students selected for the final round will be called for a face-to-face interview. GIIS will conduct tests across India including- Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Indore, Noida, Surat, Ahmedabad, Pune and Kolkata.

With the Global Citizen Scholarship programme, GIIS aims to provide unique academic and career prospects to meritorious students from across India. GIIS Global Citizen scholarship includes – a one-time return airfare, visa fee, tuition fee, boarding & lodging at the hostel, settling allowance and pocket allowance per month for daily expenses.

GIIS Singapore campus which will host the 10 Indian students is high tech state-of-the art modern learning facility. The campus supports 21st Century learning with world class amenities like Wi-Fi enabled classrooms, high tech science & computer labs, AV presentation rooms and multimedia e-learning technology through video conferencing among others. Students eligible for this scholarship need to score a minimum of 80% aggregate (CBSE, ICSE and State Board) and an A grade in all subjects for students from IGCSE board.
