New Delhi, 17th February 2024: Over the past few years, there has been a significant rise in women’s participation in the business sector. To accelerate their involvement, the government has launched several schemes aimed at empowering women. However, many women remain unaware of these initiatives. The government has initiated schemes like the Mudra Yojana, Prosperity Scheme, among others, to empower women economically. These schemes play a crucial role in providing financial assistance to women.

One such scheme is the Women’s Choir Scheme, focusing on the skill development of women involved in the coconut industry. Under this scheme, women receive two months of training and a financial incentive of ₹3,000. Additionally, those interested in setting up processing units can avail of loans of up to 75%. This scheme falls under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme.

The government has also launched the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, offering financial assistance of up to ₹1.40 lakhs to women for starting their businesses. Furthermore, they receive interest concessions. This scheme primarily benefits economically disadvantaged women earning less than ₹3 lakhs annually.

In addition, schemes like the Pradhanmantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Stand Up India Yojana, and Free Sewing Machine Scheme have provided financial aid and promoted entrepreneurship among women across various sectors.

These initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and economic inclusion, paving the way for a more equitable society.
