Government Plans To Reopen Colleges, Universities From March

New Delhi, January 30, 2021: With the Corona cases on the decline, preparations have started to open universities and colleges. Currently, it is planned to open from March 10.

However, they can be opened in February for research work and examinations. The Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission (UGC) have started work on a strategic plan for this. Suggestions have also been sought from states. Universities and colleges have been closed since March last year due to Corona infection.

Schools have opened in all states. On the same lines, the Ministry of Education has planned to open universities and colleges with the consent of all states. Initially, the final year classes of BA (undergraduate) and MA (postgraduate) will be held. However, colleges and universities can be opened in February for research work and examinations. If sources are to be believed, the UGC will soon issue guidelines regarding this.

There is also a demand from the students to open universities and higher educational institutions. Recently students of several central universities including Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), University of Delhi demanded to open the institutions soon.

Students say that when schools have been opened, then what is the problem in opening higher educational institutions. Currently online studies are being conducted, but students from remote areas are facing difficulties.
