Government Railway Police Rescue And Reunite 198 Children In Pune Division Between January and July 2023
Pune 3rd August 2023 : The Government Railway Police (GRP) have been actively working on tracing and reuniting children who leave their families for various reasons. The alert teams of the railway police rescue these children who travel to different cities from different railway stations in search of glamourous life or dispute with the family members. The children are convinced and reunited with their families.
According to the latest information, the Pune division of GRP has reunited 198 such children from different railway stations located in the Pune division between January and July 2023. This includes 75 boys and 62 girls who were reunited with their families while 39 boys and 22 girls were also handed over to the registered non profit organisations for safety reasons.
According to officials, such children are trafficked by the criminals or in some case they become victims of sexual assault. The railway police work with various organisations to trace and counsel these children to return to their families.
