Govt. to provide Narmada water through pipeline to 35 villages of Mehsana district

Gandhinagar, Thursday:  Gujarat Chief Minister Mrs. Anandiben Patel has taken pro-farmer decision as to reach Narmada water through pipeline to 35 villages of Mehsana, Bahucharaji and Jotana areas of Gujarat for irrigation.

The farmers and sarpanchs were frequently raise their issues regarding irrigation facilities for the area of Mehsana district situated between Mehsana-Ahmedabad highway and river Khari; as a result Mrs. Patel has resolved all those issues.

As the important decision taken by Mrs. Patel; 42 lakes of 35 villages will be filled with Narmada water which will be supplied through MS pipeline from the Narmada main canal pipeline passing from Adundara-Kherva villages. With the farmers oriented initiative adopted by Mrs. Patel, as many as 4200 hector area will be benefited with irrigation through water from 42 lakes, which will be fulfilled with an expenditure of Rs. 125 crore.

As a result of getting irrigation facilities in the area the farmers will produce new crops worth approximately Rs. 42 crore.
