Pune/Mumbai, October 17, 2020: Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray has announced to restart operations of gyms and fitness centres in Maharashtra from Dusshera provided that they have to strictly follow the standard operating procedure (SOP). The gyms and fitness centres may start from October 25.
Officials said that SOPs will be framed on the lines of those issued by the union government. There will be a restriction on the number of people at a time, equipment being sanitized regularly etc. Also, group exercises like Zumba and shower in gyms may not be allowed.
The owners and operators of gyms and fitness centres have organised protests several times asking the government to allow them resume operations. They are closed for the last seven months and have suffered huge monetary losses.
Finally ! Great news for Gym patrons, owners, operators and trainers
Gymnasiums & Fitness Centers across Maharashtra will be allowed to re-open from #Dussehra.
Thank you Hon. CM @OfficeofUT ji for accepting the demands of all gym goers across Maharashtra.
