Hatsun Agro Product Ltd completes acquisition of Cattle Feed Plant in Maharashtra
Chennai: 4 June 2019: Hatsun Agro Product Ltd (HAP), India’s leading private sector dairy company with well-known brands ‘Arokya’, ‘Arun’, ‘IBACO’ and ‘Hatsun’ has completed the acquisition of a cattle feed plant in Maharashtra. The acquisition of M/s. Madhur Pashu Aahar, located at Solapur, Maharashtra with a total production capacity of l00 Tonnes per day will help HAP in supporting the growing requirement of affiliated farmers and thereby expanding its feed business in the region.
Currently, HAP manufactures ‘Santosa’ brand of cattle feed at its existing plant which has a manufacturing capacity of 900 tonnes per day. With the acquisition, the total manufacturing capacity of Santosa cattle feed has gone up to 1000 tonnes per day.
With wider acceptance among its affiliated farmers, HAP has been witnessing a growing demand for its cattle feed brand ‘Santosa’. HAP’s new acquisition will help to cater to the growing requirements of its farming community across Maharashtra.
According to RG Chandramogan, Chairman and Managing Director, Hatsun Agro Product Ltd,“Good quality cattle feed is a key component of our support service to farmers. This acquisition facilitates our intention for consistent support to our farmers who seek reliable supply of high quality feed for their cattle. We will modernise this plant with the latest equipments and upgrade the lab testing facilities to bring it on par with our own expected standards so as to manufacture high quality cattle feed”.
The acquisition and subsequent modernization will cost approximately Rs. 10 crores. One of the main reason for acquiring this factory is to save the transport cost – an approximate value of Rs.2.00 per kg, which is currently being incurred for transporting the feed to Maharashtra from our existing plant at Tamil Nadu.
