Heavy Rain Lashes Pune; IMD Issues Alert for Ghat Regions
Pune, 19th August 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for the ghat (hill) regions of Pune district while also forecasting rain in the city areas. Several parts of Pune have been witnessing continuous showers since Monday night.
According to IMD data, Pune city and nearby regions recorded varying rainfall in the 12-hour period ending at 9 am on Tuesday. Lavale reported the highest rainfall at 46.5 mm, followed by Pashan with 43 mm, Chinchwad 39.5 mm, and Shivajinagar 35.2 mm. Talegaon recorded 34 mm, while Hadapsar and Magarpatta registered 20.5 mm each.
Other areas reported comparatively lower rainfall: Haveli (16.5 mm), Girivan (10.5 mm), Nimgiri (9 mm), Dudulgaon (8.5 mm), Rajgurunagar (6.5 mm), Baramati (6.2 mm), Daund (5.5 mm), Dhamdhere (4 mm), Dapodi (4 mm), and Malin (3 mm).
