Heavy Traffic Jam on Mumbai-Pune Expressway Due to Consecutive Holidays
Pune, 14th April 2023: The Mumbai-Pune Expressway has been experiencing heavy traffic since this morning due to three consecutive holidays. As the situation is expected to persist for the next two days, drivers traveling on this route are advised to plan their journey accordingly.
With schools on summer vacation and a government holiday for three days, tourists have taken to private vehicles to visit various spots, adding to the congestion.
To alleviate the problem, the Borghat Highway and Khandala Highway Police are working to reduce the congestion by temporarily stopping the vehicles heading towards Mumbai near the Khandala tunnel and clearing six lanes for vehicles traveling towards Pune.
The Samaj Bhushan award ceremony, honoring senior artist Appasaheb Dharmadhikari, will take place on Sunday (16th April) at Kharghar Mumbai. With lakhs of followers expected to attend, heavy traffic on expressway and national highway is anticipated.
