New Delhi, January 11, 2021: The government has begun putting interest into the PF account of crores of employees of the country. For the financial year of 2019-20, the government has decided to pay 8.5 percent interest on EPF savings. The status of the interest coming in can be checked at home. Upon checking, if the amount of interest has not been credited to your account, then a complaint can be registered.

Check balance through Umang App – First, one has the Umang app installed on their phone. After this, you must enter your registered phone number. Go onto the ‘Service Directory’ in the menu provided in the top left corner. Search and click on EPFO ​​option here. Click on “View Passbook”, and check the balance through your UAN number and OTP.

Through EPFO ​​portal – Employees can also check their account balance through the EPFO ​​portal. For this, one must log in to the website. Click on epfindia.gov.in for e-passbook. A new page will open after this. Here, you have to fill your username (UAN number), password and captcha. Details will appear onto a new page. Now, you must select the member ID. The account can now be read on the bar.

Check your balance through expert miss-call – For this, miss-call 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number. Here, it is imperative to have your UAN, PAN and Aadhaar link. After making a call to this number, your balance will appear.

Check the balance through SMS – For this, it is crucial for your UAN number is registered with EPFO. You must send ‘EPFOHO UAN ENG’ to 7738299899. This service supports 10 different languages ​​including English, Hindi, and Punjabi.

Another alternative to filing a complaint – For this, go to the website https://epfigms.gov.in/. After visiting this website, click on “Register Grievance”. Choose your status from PF Member, EPF Pensioner, Employer, Others, then choose PF Member for the complaint related to PF account. After all these processes are complete, fill the UAN number and security code and click on Get Details. Personal information will be revealed from the UAN linked account.

Click on Get OTP. OTP will be sent in an SMS to the registered mobile number. As soon as the OTP is submitted, after filling personal details, click on the PF number with which you wish to file a complaint. After this, a pop up will appear on your screen. Here, choose one of the options PF Officer, Employer, Employee Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme or Pre Pension. Upload details and necessary documents, and click on submit. After this, your complaint will be registered and the complaint registration number will be sent to the registered mobile number and email.
