Holidays declared on Lok Sabha polling days in state

Mumbai, Mar 30: The state government has by an order declared holiday on the polling days in the State for the Lok Sabha elections. This holiday is applicable to those employees who are away from their parliament constituency. Besides, the state and central government offices, semi-government offices, public sector enterprises, and non-agriculture, and other universities, deemed universities, education institutions etc. will also have the holiday on this account.

In the first phase the election will be held at Wardha, Ramtek, NGPUR, Bhandara-Gondia, Gadchiroli-Chimur, Chandrapur and Yavatmal-Washim parliamentary constituencies on April 11, 2019. There will be holiday on this day.

Likewise, on 18th April 2019, the parliamentary constiutuencies of Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Hingoli, Nanded, Parbhani, Beed, Usmanabad, Latur and Solapur will have holiday to facilitate people to cast their votes.

In the third phase the polling will be held at Jalgaon, Raver, Jalna , Aurangabad, Raigad, Pune, Baramati, Ahmednagar, Madha, Sangli, Satara, Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg, Kolhapur and Hatkanangale parliamentary constituencies on April 23rd which will be holiday for these constituencies.

The fourth and the last phase in the state will see polling in Nandurbar, Dhule, Dindori, Nasik, Palghar, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, Thane, Mumbai North, Mumbai North-east, Mumbai North-central, Mumbai South – Central, Mumbai South, Maval, Shirur and Shirdi parliamentary constituencies. The polling will be held on April 29th. Thus, this day will be holiday for these constituencies.

It has been clarified that this notification will cover all the autonomous corporation under the central government, establishments etc.
