H&R Block India joins hands with ‘Just for Kicks’ Foundation to provide a launchpad for young talent
Pune, 22nd January, 2016: H&R Block India Pvt. Ltd. a subsidiary of the world’s largest, dedicated, trusted and state-of-the-art individual tax services provider company, under its CSR initiative, sponsored multi-city league School Football Championship organised by Pune based Just for Kicks ((JFK) Foundation. With the humble intention to brighten up the lives of underprivileged school children using sports as a medium, H & R Block is privileged to sponsor and partner football teams with Just For Kicks.
Just for Kicks Foundation’s School Football Championship operates in four cities and impacts 1500 children in 80+ municipalities and low budget schools. Students from low income background face a lot of difficulties, financially and emotionally, and sports at large have been a powerful social tool to improve the learning culture among the students. Using the power of football, the idea is not only to bring the change but also unearth fine talents.
On this initiative, Mr. Vaibhav Sankla, Director, H&R Block India Pvt. Ltd, while expressing immense joy to associate his team in contributing towards the development of young talent said, “We believe Sports being a medium teaches a lot about life skills in a unique way. Football as a sport is probably among the most powerful, given its simplicity and it helps to bring together kids from across social strata to learn and grow. Through this initiative, H&R Block has made an earnest attempt to be a part of the development of the children at JFK. These efforts will culminate into children getting to learn team building, life lessons, exposure to corporate life (through the talk sessions that H&R Block will have with them) and of course learning a new sport which is more than an achievement and a mission for H&R Block.”
3 friendly matches were played between H&R Block India and the teams of JFK under the Block Football League banner. The enthusiastic H&R Block employees’ teams played with St Francis Stallions and Sunrise Stars from JFK. Medals were distributed to all the kids of the winning teams. The employees from H&R Block encouraged and congratulated the JFK kids on their achievements and applauded the team spirit that they displayed. They personally interacted with the kids and reiterated the importance of team building which is a big part of corporate lives.
H&R Block has been globally involved in CSR activities across USA, Canada and Australia by conducting drives where they have donated food, grains, money and funded higher education for students that have added value to the lives of the communities of which they have been a part.
