Hyderabad :Four men arrested for gangrape and murder of Dr Priyanka Reddy

Hyderabad, November 29,2019: The Cyberabad police have arrested four persons in connection with gangrape and murder case of Dr Priyanka Reddy.

A resident informed police about burnt corpse of a girl has been found on the outskirts of the city’s Shadnagar. According to preliminary investigation, police suspect that the doctor was sexually abused before the burn. A senior police officer said on Friday that four people have been detained in the case and they are being questioned.

He said that we firmly believe that the victim was raped before she was killed. However, this will be confirmed only after forensic testing.

Telangana cabinet minister K Rama Rao said he would look into the matter in person. At the same time, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kishan Reddy is going to visit the deceased doctor’s house tomorrow.

The deceased’s sister lodged a complaint after the doctor who was working as a vet and went to a hospital for treatment vet. While returning from there, the tyre of her vehicle got ‘punctured’. After this, sge was brutally murdered and burnt in Shadnagar by four men who promised to help her.

According to police, the accused persons took turns to rape her and then strangled her to death. They took her body in a lorry under bridge and burnt her.

While the accused were checking her tyre, Reddy called her sister and informed her about the four strangers who are helping her. After that her phone got switched off.

Giving information about the accident, the victim’s sister had parked her scooty near the Shadnagar toll plaza. While returning from the veterinary hospital, she saw a scooty puncture when she arrived there. After this she called her sister and gave information about this.

Talking to her sister, she said on the phone that “I am afraid my scooty is spoiled. After this his sister asked him to come by cab.” Later her phone was switched off.

Based on CCTV footage, police have arrested four persons identified as Mohammed @Areef (26), Jollu Shiva, Jollu Nikam and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu. Pasha and Chennakeshavulu are drivers while the two others are lorry cleaners.
