Thiruvananthapuram, 2nd October 2023 – Indian cricket sensation Virat Kohli has made a swift departure back home just before the 2nd warm-up game of the Indian cricket national team in preparation for the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup.
The upcoming warm-up match is scheduled to take place in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, following the complete washout of the previous warm-up game between India and England, where not a single ball could be bowled due to heavy rain.
According to reports from Cricbuzz, Virat Kohli flew back home from Guwahati owing to a “personal emergency.” However, fans need not fret, as the star batsman is expected to rejoin the team soon and is not likely to miss India’s warm-up game against the Netherlands.
A source from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared with Cricbuzz, “Virat will rejoin the team soon.”
Kohli recently featured in just one of the three ODIs against Australia in a recently-concluded series. In the 3rd ODI, he displayed his impeccable form by scoring 56 runs, despite India facing defeat in the contest.
Virat Kohli’s home return is sure to generate interest and speculation among other cricket enthusiasts, but his expected swift return should provide reassurance to Indian fans eagerly anticipating his performance in the upcoming ICC Men’s ODI World Cup.
