IDOLE INDIENNE – 2015 Singing competition for students of French in India

​Singing is usually an expression of joy. Songs and music know no barriers. Apart from creating this feeling of well-being songs help in the comprehension and memorization of the foreign language.

IDOLE INDIENNE (French for Indian Idol) was initiated in 2004 by the South Zone of IATF, to making the learning of French a pleasurable experience while familiarising students with the country and its rich culture.

The first finals were held in Chennai, followed by Hyderabad and Mumbai.

IDOLE INDIENNE (2)“Idole Indienne” is open to students of French from schools, colleges, universities, Alliances Françaises and private institutions. 

There are 2 categories, based on age 

Category 1: below 18 years

Category 2: above 18 years

Students can choose any one of the 30 songs, new and old favourites, including 3 by Edith Piaf whose birth centenary falls this year. Teachers then choose the best singers to represent the school or college to compete with others from the same city.

In Mumbai, the Semi-finals are being held at the prestigious Udayachal High School, Vikhroli, on 23rd October at 12.30 pm and we sincerely thank the Godrej Management and Trustees and the Principal, Mrs. Rekha Pandey and her Team Udayachal for their kind help and generous support for this event.

On November 21, 2015, students from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Indore, Lucknow, Mumbai, Mysuru, Nagpur, Pune, Salem, Trichy and Vadodara will compete in the grande finale at Bangalore University.

This year, the 2 first prizes are free tickets to Paris offered by Oman Air. The other finalists will also receive attractive gifts, courtesy TV5 Monde.
