IIHM Pune, Skål International Pune and Udaaan Management Academy Celebrate Success of Season 2 ‘Young Skål Cricket Championship 2025’

Pune, 24th March 2025: The International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) Pune, Skål International Pune and Udaaan Management Academy proudly celebrated the success of Season 2 of the “Young Skål Cricket Championship 2025.” Young Skål International, a dynamic and vibrant organization, empowers young professionals in the tourism industry by offering opportunities to connect, learn and grow, backed by the robust Skål International network of over 12,300 industry leaders across 80 countries and 312+ clubs.

Following a series of thrilling matches, IIHM Pune emerged victorius, clinching the title for the second consecutive year, with AISSMS securing the runner-up position. The tournament, which saw participation from eight hotel management colleges, was supported by Skål International Pune, IIHM Pune and Udaaan Management Academy, igniting excitement and pride within the Young Skål community. Hosted by the IIHM Pune Sports Committee over two action-packed days, the event featured eight competing teams from the following colleges:

Group A
1. AISSMS
2. PUMBA
3. WINGSSS Aviation

Group B
1. AMBROSIA
2. IIHM YODHA (IIHM Pune)
3. MA Rangoonwala

Group C
1. BVDUIHMCT
2. CES CHAMPIONS

“We are thrilled with the overwhelming response and enthusiasm shown by our students and those from other colleges throughout the tournament,” said Rupinder Singh Khurana, Director of IIHM Pune.

Sangeeta Bhattacharjee, Director, Young Skål International Pune and Deputy Director, IIHM Pune was instrumental in making the event a success. She thanked Yogesh Mane, Sports Coordinator, IIHM Pune and all her fellow colleagues for the impressive win as well as organising the event under extremely friendly conditions.

Tournament was inaugurated on 10th March 2025 by Sk Shahbehram Rabbani, President Skål Pune; Sk Rupinder Singh Khurana, Director, IIHM Pune; Sk Sangeeta Bhattacharjee, Deputy Director, IIHM Pune and Director, Young Skål Pune.

Day 2, 11th March 2025, the first semi-finals was between AISSMS and CES CHAMPIONSHIP. The winner was AISSMS. The second semi-finals was between IIHM YODHA and PUMBA. The winner was IIHM YODHA.

Finals were played between IIHM Yodhas and AISSMS. Winner of Season 2 Young Skål Cricket Championship was IIHM Yodha. In the final, the following players received accolades for their outstanding performances:

– Player of the Match: Rahul (IIHM Yodha)
– Best Batsman of the Match: Harshavardhan Satav (IIHM Yodha)
– Best Bowler of the Match: Abhi (AISSMS)
– Man of the series: Harshavardha Satav (IIHM Yodha)
– Player of the Tournament: Harshavardhan Satav (IIHM Yodha)

IIHM Yodhas won the Young Skål Cricket Champions Trophy, Season 2 and cash prize of Rs 10000 while the AISSMS won the runners trophy and cash prize of Rs 5000.
