IMD Issues Rain With Thunder Warning In Many Parts Of Maharashtra; Pune To Have Cloudy Weather

Pune, 16th March 2021: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted rain accompanied by thunder between March 18 to 20 in some places in Central Maharashtra and Marathwada. It also has said that there is a possibility of hailstorm in some parts of Vidharbha.

Meanwhile, the sky will be mostly clear in Pune for the next two days, however, the weather may be a little cloudy in the afternoon.

According to the Meteorological Department, the combination of steamy winds from the Arabian Sea and winds from the south is likely to create favourable conditions for rainfall in the state. Therefore, between March 18 and 20, there is a possibility of rain with thunder in some places in central Maharashtra and Marathwada, while there is a possibility of rain with hail in some places in Vidarbha.

However, IMD said that Pune will not receive rain but will continue to have cloudy weather in the afternoon. Currently, the city is experiencing cold weather in the morning and hot during the afternoons. On Monday, the city recorded a maximum of 36.4 degrees Celsius while a minimum of 16.5 degrees Celsius.
