Pune, 24th August 2025: The intensity of monsoon showers has reduced across Maharashtra, but light to moderate rain continues in many parts of the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘yellow alert’ for heavy rainfall at isolated places in the ghats of Pune and Satara districts between Sunday (August 24) and Tuesday (August 26).

According to the IMD forecast, Raigad district is also likely to witness heavy rainfall at isolated locations over the next four to five days. Similarly, Konkan-Goa is expected to experience widespread heavy showers, while Vidarbha may receive heavy rain at several places for two to three days. Madhya Maharashtra will get moderate showers at a few locations, and Marathwada is likely to see isolated rain activity.

The weather bureau further stated that Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded and Latur districts will record light to moderate rainfall during the next two to three days. All districts of Vidarbha are likely to experience rain accompanied by thunder and lightning from Monday (August 25) to Wednesday (August 27), prompting the yellow alert for the region.

In Pune city and surrounding areas, the sky will remain generally cloudy over the next four to five days. Light to moderate showers are likely, with the possibility of heavy rainfall in ghat regions along with light winds.

The IMD has urged citizens, especially those in Konkan, Vidarbha and ghat areas of Pune and Satara, to remain cautious during this period.
