IMD Predicts Rain With Thunder, Lightning In Some Parts Of Pune District; Hailstorm In Marathwada, Rain Other Parts Of Maharashtra

Pune, 19th March 2021: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Pune has predicted hailstorms at isolated places in the Marathwada region while rain with thundering in other parts of Maharashtra state. A cyclonic circulation is seen over Marathwada and surrounding areas which will bring rain to the State.

Konkan and Goa too will receive rain at isolated places with thunderous activity and lightning.

The IMD predicted a hailstorm in Marathwada on Saturday while thunderous activity with lightning will be seen across the state.

While predicting rain with thundering and lighting in the State, IMD said that Pune city too will have cloudy skies till March 24. Thereafter, the sky will be mainly clear. IMD said, there has been a slight increase in the temperature in Konkan and Goa while a decrease in Vidarbha.

The highest temperature recorded in the state on Friday was at Solapur 38.9 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature recorded at Mahabaleshwar was 18.0 degree Celsius.

Pune predictions

IMD predicted that the average temperature for the city will hover between 34 to 36 degree Celsius, while the sky will be cloudy with incidences of rain with thunder and lightning in some parts of the district.

The rain is predicted in the afternoon or evening and the sky will be partly cloudy for the rest of the day. The sky will remain clear and the weather will be dry by the end of next week, said IMD in its notification.
