Indian Archery, Table Tennis, and Hockey Teams Reach Paris for Olympic Preparations

New Delhi, 23rd July 2024: As of now, 49 Indian athletes have arrived at the Games Village in preparation for the Paris Olympics, set to commence on July 26. This includes the entire archery, table tennis, and hockey teams. Of these, 39 athletes have reached Paris, including the eight-member table tennis team and the 19-member Indian men’s hockey team. Additionally, 10 out of the 21 qualified shooters have arrived in Chateauroux, while the six-member archery team, along with two tennis players, a shuttler, a rower, and two swimmers, have made it to Paris.
India will be represented by a total of 117 athletes—70 men and 47 women—competing across 69 events for a total of 95 medals. The contingent will also include 140 support staff, making up a total of 257 members.
At the Tokyo Olympics, India was represented by a 119-member team and achieved its best-ever performance with seven medals, including a historic gold in javelin throw by Neeraj Chopra. Chopra is set to compete in Paris to defend his gold medal.
