India’s Biggest 1-Day Jump: Over 62,538 Coronavirus Cases,  Tally Crosses 20 Lakh Mark

New Delhi, 7 Aug,  2020: Coronavirus cases are increasing rapidly in India. The total number of cases in the country has reached to more than 20 lakhs and more than 41 thousand people have died. According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health, in the last 24 hours, more than 62 thousand cases of corona have been reported and 886 people have died. The total recoveries have jumped to 13,78,105 with recovery of 49,769 patients in the last 24 hours.

 

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 2,027,074 across the country. Out of this, 1,378,105 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 41,585 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 607,384 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.

 

Highest cases in Maharashtra

 

Maharashtra has reported the highest number of coronavirus cases in the country. Across Maharashtra, 3,16,375 patients have recovered while the Case fatality rate in the state is 3.50%. As of yesterday, there are 1,46,305 active cases in the state. The recovery rate in the state is 65.94%. Currently, 9,76,332 people are in home quarantine and 37,768 people are in institutional quarantine. Out of 24,87,990 laboratory samples, 4,79,779 have been tested positive (19.28%) for COVID-19 until yesterday.
