Innovation Cell established in HRD Ministry to promote innovative culture in the country

New Delhi, July 1, 2019 : An Innovation Cell has been established in All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to undertake/initiate various innovation related activities such as establishing Institution’s Innovation Councils (IICs) in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), ranking HEIs on innovation parameters (ARIIA – Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements ranking), Hackathons (Smart India Hackathons, International Hackathons, Grand/Mini Challenges) and other such initiatives. Innovation Cell has inter-alia organised the Smart India Hackathon 2018 and 2019, Singapore India Hackathon 2018, ARIIA Ranking 2019, helped establish Institute Innovation Councils (IICs) in more than 900 Higher Education Institutions and has conducted India’s first leadership talk series to help students learn from life experiences of entrepreneurs.
