Pune, 11th April 2024: The atmosphere surrounding the Lok Sabha elections is intensifying. In this context, it has been discovered that the phrases “Inquilab Zindabad” and “NOTA” were written on a board meant for voting awareness at the prestigious Gokhale Institute Of Politics And Economics in Pune.

The Gokhale Institute’s Electoral Literacy Club and Art Club have created a “Wall of Democracy” within the academic block. This wall features a signature plate as part of a voter awareness campaign, displaying symbols from organizations such as the Gokhale Institute, the Election Commission, the Government of India, and the University Grants Commission. However, it was found this morning that the slogans “Inquilab Zindabad” and “NOTA” had been written on the wall. The motives and individuals responsible for this act remain unknown.

Upon learning of the incident, the Election Commission’s Bharari team visited the institute to conduct an inspection. Anil Thombare, State Secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), demanded that action be taken against those who tampered with the board and warned that protests may follow if appropriate measures are not taken.

The administration of Gokhale Institute has stated that the incident will be thoroughly investigated and that appropriate action will be taken against the culprits.
