Mumbai/Pune, 29th October 2025: Maharashtra Legislative Council Chairman Prof. Ram Shinde has directed the Pune Divisional Commissioner to conduct a site inspection and submit a detailed report within 15 days regarding the alleged illegal construction at the Nancy Lake Home project in Katraj, Pune.

The directive came during a meeting held at the Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai on Tuesday following complaints about unauthorized construction activities at the project located on Survey No. 08. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Shinde, who expressed concern over repeated changes made to the project’s approved layout and survey maps.

According to preliminary findings, the Nancy Lake Home project has received nearly ten revised approvals since 2004. It was observed that the locations of Survey Nos. 8 and 9 were altered in the village and measurement maps, raising questions about possible manipulation of official records.

During the meeting, it was revealed that the Pune District Collector had granted non-agricultural (NA) permission for construction over an area of 37,973.20 sq. m., but the actual built-up area may have extended to 60,630.59 sq. m.. Participants also questioned the reasons behind repeated modifications in the approved plans.

As officials failed to provide satisfactory clarifications, Prof. Shinde instructed the Divisional Commissioner to visit the site along with officials from the Land Records Department and other concerned agencies to carry out a thorough investigation and submit the report within the stipulated time.

The meeting was attended by Legislative Secretariat Secretary (IV) Shivdarshan Sathe, Deputy Secretary Mohan Kakad, Urban Development Department’s Joint Secretary Priyanka Chhapwale, Executive Engineer of Pune Municipal Corporation Ramesh Kakde, Deputy Engineer Rupali Dhage, Assistant Law Officer Nilesh Badgujar, and Pune City Survey Officer Balasaheb Bhosale.
