INS SHIVAJI CELEBRATES NAVY WEEK WITH CHILDREN, DIFFERENTLY ABLED AND VISUALLY CHALLENGED

Navy Day is celebrated every year on 04 Dec to commemorate the attack on Karachi Naval Harbour by the Navy on 04 Dec 1971. As a run up to the Navy Day 2016, Navy Week celebrations are being conducted by INS Shivaji, Lonavla. As a part of Navy Week celebrations, the Officers, men and families of INS Shivaji, spent a day with Children, Differently abled and Visually Challenged personnel. 104 Children and Staff of Balgram Orphanage Lonavla, 29 Children & Staff from Samvad School for Differently Abled and 29 Members and Staff of NAB Lion’s Home Khandala were invited to INS Shivaji. The Children and Staff enjoyed the morning with boat rides at Shivsagar Lake while Visually Challenged were treated to melodious music and songs by the INS Shivaji Band. These events were followed by sumptuous Barakhana for all visiting guests along with the Officers, Men & Ladies of INS Shivaji. During the Barakhana, Children sang songs along with the INS Shivaji Band and had a wonderful time. In the afternoon, a special movie screening was held for the Children.
