Intoxicated Thieves Create Panic Near Pune Railway Station; Man Stabbed With Blade for Money

Pune, 6th January 2025: Intoxicated and addicted thieves have created terror in the Pune Railway Station area. One person was stabbed with a blade after refusing to give money to these addicts. Three incidents of robbery have taken place in the Pune Railway Station area in the last 10 days, raising questions about passenger safety.
Vaditha Govinda Naik (28, resident of Bibwewadi) has filed a complaint at the Bund Garden Police Station regarding this incident. Based on his complaint, a case has been registered against the thief.
According to the police, Naik was leaving the Tukaram Sheth Shinde Parking Lot area near Pune Railway Station around 10:30 pm on Saturday (4th January) when someone stopped him and demanded money. When Naik refused, the thief forcibly took Rs 800 from Naik’s pocket. As Naik resisted, the thief stabbed him with a blade. The thief fled after Naik shouted for help. Assistant Police Inspector Nandkumar Naik is investigating the case.
