IPL: Lucknow Super Giants CEO Raghu Iyer Injured In Accident On Way To Pune

Pune, 29th April 2022: Lucknow Super Giants Chief Executive Officer Raghu Iyer and two others have sustained injuries in a road accident. Iyer was on his way to Pune from Mumbai with the LSG team for the IPL match in Pune today.

He was accompanied by Lucknow coach Gautam Gambhir and another person in the car. Although all three were injured in the accident, all three are safe.

“Lucknow Super Giants’ CEO Raghu Iyer, his associate Rachita Berry and Gaurav Arora, Manager for Gautam Gambhir were involved in a minor road accident en route to the venue for tonight’s game. Fortunately, all three are safe and well”, the team said in an official statement.

Punjab Kings match against Lucknow Super Giants

Meanwhile, the 42nd match of Indian Premier League 2022 (IPL 2022) is being played between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at MCA Stadium in Gahunje, Pune. Punjab won the toss and elected to bowl first. Punjab, led by Mayank Agarwal, have not made any changes in their team’s playing XI. On the other hand, a change has been made in the Lucknow team. Awesh Khan has been given another chance to replace Manish Pandey.

Punjab has so far played 8 matches in the 15th season of IPL 2022. Out of these, Punjab won 4 matches and lost 4 matches. At present Punjab is in the seventh position with 8 points. Lucknow, on the other hand, have so far won 5 out of 8 matches and conceded defeat in 3 matches. Lucknow ranks fourth in the table with 10 points.

This is the first time that the two teams have met. Punjab Kings had defeated Chennai Super Kings in the previous match. Lucknow Super Giants had beaten Mumbai Indians in the previous match.
