Iranian woman beaten up inside Pune FRO by police women

Pune – An Iranian woman was allegedly thrashed by some police women Pune police’s Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) on Thursday evening.

There was an argument related to her exit formalities. She has been studying here for the last six years.

Police officials said that her visa had expired last year. “We wanted to her to submit the required documents to complete the exit permit formalities. But she created ruckus here and abused our staffs”, an officer said.

According to the woman, she was dragged from ACP – FRO cabin to IPS SANJAY BAVISKAR, Deputy Commissioner, Special Branch 1 office and brutally beaten in his absence.

On Friday, the woman alongwith Mohammad Saif of I-Care, an organization to help bridge the gap between students and police, met senior police officers.

Addl. CP Sahebrao Patil assured that he’ll personally look into the case. However, DCP Baviskar and the officers of FRO denied about such incidence and said that it was the girl who assulted two of the FRO female cops right inside the FRO office.

According to them she’s faslely alleging to avoid exit formalities procedure as she’s lacking some documents.
