Ahmedabad, January 6, 2021: Dr Tapan Mishra, Senior Advisor and a top scientist of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has alleged that deadly attempts have been made to kill him in three years.

Earlier on January 5, he revealed that outsiders do not want ISRO and its scientists to build sustainable systems at low cost through his social post. Dr Mishra, who will retire in December this year, said that it is an international attack and has demanded an inquiry from the central government citing Dr Vikram Sarabhai’s mysterious death.

“This secret was hidden for a long time, but now it has to be made public,” said Dr Mishra. He further said that Arsenic trioxide was given to him for the first time on May 23, 2017, during a promotion interview at Bengaluru headquarters. It was probably added to the sauce of dosa after lunch. However, he did not like lunch and ate a little dosa with chutney. For this reason, the chemical did not stay in the stomach.

On July 12, 2019, there was an attempt to kill him with hydrogen cyanide, two days before the launch of Chandrayaan-2. However, the alertness of the NSG officer saved him. Attackers also created tunnels in his high-security house and left poisonous snakes. In September 2020, attackers tried to kill him by giving him arsenic.
Due to these incidents, he is suffering from a serious illness, pimples, foreskin, neurological and fungal infections.

Dr Mishra states that the purpose of such attacks is to target or divert scientists who make synthetic aperture radars of military and commercial importance. He had also complained about the incidents to his seniors. He alleged that though former chairman Kiran Kumar considered his concerns, Dr Kasturirangan and Madhavan Nair did not bother about the case. Even after complaining, assassination attempts continued.
