Jal-Van-Mohan Din: 96 Saplings Planted By  Kondhwa Development Forum

Pune, February 15, 2021: The birth anniversary of Padma Vibhushan Dr Mohan Dharia, a great freedom fighter, principled political leader, and founder of the ‘Vanrai’ organization, is celebrated on February 14.

Due to his passion for the environment, his birth anniversary is celebrated as ‘Jal-Van-Mohan Din’ by environmental organizations. Kondhwa Development Forum celebrated Dharia’s birth anniversary by planting 96 indigenous trees.

The Kondhwa Development Forum in collaboration with Vanrai and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) carried out the tree-planting initiative on both sides of the road beginning from Market Yard-Kondhwa Road till Gangadham Chowk to Shreeji Lawns.

Vanrai President Ravindra Dharia, Senior Police Inspector Sardar Patil, Atul Jain of Kondhwa Development Forum, Sachin Gandhi, Dhawal Soni, Samyak Lalwani, Mahendra Goyal, Sanad Jain, Sachin Rathod, Jyoti Patil, Anand Agarwal, Praveen Patel, Chetan Chordia, Shailesh Chhajed, Rambhau Todkari, former MLA Yogesh Tillekar, corporator Mansi Deshpande, Sunil Kamthe, Sangeeta Thosar, Sagar Dharia, and Rakesh Shelar among others were present during the tree plantation drive.

“The Kondhwa police station is performing a lot of social work. I was happy to see the enthusiasm of the Kondhwa Development Forum for nature. Even if trees are planted on behalf of the Kondhwa Development Forum, the police administration will fulfill its responsibility to protect it,” said Senior Police Inspector Sardar Patil.

“Dr Mohan Dharia said that ‘love nature and nature will love you’. He has fascinated us with nature and the environment since our childhoods. Kondhwa and its surrounding areas are developing but we have now also planted 96 native trees on both sides of the road on Anna’s 96th birth anniversary on behalf of the Kondhwa Development Forum,“ Atul Jain said.
