Pune, September 2, 2020: “Even though a Jumbo Care Center has been set up in Pune for the treatment of corona patients, it lacks essential facilities. The pandemic is reaching its peak, while the patients are being neglected,” said MLA Siddharth Shirole.

Shirole has demanded that the State Chief Minister should pay daily attention to the health services in Pune as many patients have lost their lives in Pune due to delay in treatment or non-availability of treatment.

Taking into account the death of a young journalist due to Corona on Tuesday in Pune, who allegedly had to undergo lots of difficulties while receiving treatment, Shirole who has written to the CM said, “The state government has failed to set up medical facilities in the last five months in Pune. I presented the case of all Punekars to the Chief Minister and the Guardian Minister of Pune and followed it up firmly. Later a Jumbo Care Center was set up but accordingly its upkeep was ignored by the government as the 800-bed center does not have adequate medical staff, does not treat patients with proper care and affection and there are other wide range of other complaints,” Shirole said.

He added saying that medical experts had repeatedly stated that there would be an outbreak in Pune, on the basis of which he had emailed and sent letters to the Chief Minister’s Office but received no response.

“As Pune residents are worried about the rising death rate, in the letter, I have requested Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray to pay daily attention to the health services in Pune and Guardian Minister, Ajit Pawar to stay in Pune and conduct daily medical check-ups. I also had a discussion with BJP state president, Chandrakant Patil today who validated my demand,” Shirole said.
