K Raheja Corp concludes a very successful VIVA Cup 2019
Pune, 4th Feb 2019: In the inaugural edition of the Viva Cup 2019, which was hosted by K Raheja Corp in partnership with Maharashtra Veteran Cricket Association, Team Raheja 11 emerged as proud winners.
Viva Cup 2019 was hosted at Raheja Viva’s cricket ground, in Pirangut, Pune, and saw the convening of top 16 teams fighting it out on weekends for the top prize.Furthermore, Maharashtra Veteran Cricket Association’s partnership added to the scale and credibility of the event. The congregation also included families and colleagues cheering for their favorite players. An idyllic location environed by Sahyadri Hills, a massive cricket pitch in the center of 77 acres of green expanse, and the best teams brought together by the MVCA, made this an ideal competition for cricket lovers in Pune.
After four weeks of the tournament, Team Raheja 11 from Pirangut played off against Star 11 from Bhugaon in a hard fought final to win the much coveted Viva Cup. In the 15 overs game, Team Raheja 11 knocked off an impressive 123 runs beating Star 11 who fell short of just 11 runs and scored 113 runs.
The tournament saw qualified umpires and live commentary which ensured fair play and truly gave the tournament a professional touch. The Man of the Match was awarded to Sagar Angre from Star 11 for his commendable performance for scoring 174 runs. The tournament trophies for the Best Batsmanand Best Bowler were awarded to Sagar Angre from Star 11 for recording 174 runs Amit Gole from Team Raheja for taking 11 wickets respectively.
