Kaas Plateau: Youth Falls Into 600 Feet Gorge While Taking Selfie, Rescued After 25 Hours

Satara, 11th July 2021: A 22-year-old man fell into a gorge at Ganeshkhind near Kaas Plateau, a World Heritage Site. The incident took place around 6:30 pm on Thursday.

The rescue team from Satara has succeeded in rescuing him from Kaas Valley after 25 hours. The injured youth is identified as Kanishk Sachin Jangale, a resident of Yadogopal Peth in Satara.

On Thursday evening, he went for a walk on Kaas road. He went to Ganeshkhind near Yavateshwar. There he was tempted to take a selfie and fell into the valley. When some citizens saw this, they informed the police about the incident. The young man was in the valley for 25 hours with injuries. While searching, his family found his two-wheeler near the temple in Ganeshkhind.

Members of MLA Shivendrasinharaje Bhosale Rescue Team started the relief work at 3 pm Friday. A rescue team member descended into the deep valley. The injured youth was rescued with the help of a crane at 7:30 pm. The youth was lying injured in the valley for 25 hours. Police rushed him to the hospital.

Vikram Pawar, Chandrasen Pawar, Deva Gurav, Saurabh Jagtap, Aditya Pawar, Mukund Pawar, Ridhi Rankale, Sanjyog Padwal and Abhijeet Shelar of Shivendrasinhraje Bhosale rescue team were involved in the rescue operation.
