Kalavardhini to organize ‘Anugraha’ program this Guru Purnima

Pune, 16 July 2024: Pune-based Kalavardhini, an organization engaged in imparting training in Bharatanatyam is organizing a special program titled ‘Anugraha’ on July 21st at Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir at 9:45 am. The program is open to all and entry is free on a first come first serve basis. Every year, students of the Kalavardhini pay a tribute to Bharatanatyam guru Dr. Sucheta Bhide-Chapekar on Guru Pournima. As part of their ‘Anugrah’ program disciples conceptualize various themes to express their gratitude towards their guru. This year, Kalavardhini has organized a special program called ‘Smriti Vaach’ to celebrate the 60th birthday of Smita Mahajan who is a senior disciple of Dr. Sucheta Bhide-Chapekar. Through this program, the dancers of Kalavardhini will present the pieces choreographed by Smita Mahajan to express their respect for Dr. Sucheta Bhide-Chapekar. The accompanying artists include Nandini Gujar (Vocal), Yashwant Hampiholi (Mridangam), B Ananthraman (Violin) and Arundhati Patwardhan (Natuvangam). Sagrika Patwardhan will anchor the program.
