Kanhaiya Kumar: A look into his personal life

Kanhaiya Kumar was born in January 1987 and was brought up in Bihat, Begusarai district, Bihar. His father Jaishankar Singh, owns about an acre of farmland and unfortunately is suffering from paralysis. His mother, Meena Devi works in Anganwadi and he has two siblings. His elder brother works as a supervisor in a company in Assam and the younger brother is preparing for civil exams.
Kanhaiya Kumar studied till Class VI at Madhya Vidyalaya, Masnadpur, in Bihar. During his school days he was interested in taking part in several activities, so he joined an organization called IPTA (Indian People’s Theatre Association), and later he cleared his 10th board exams in 2002 with first class. After completing 10th board exams, Kanhaiya moved on to take up science at Ram Ratna Singh College in Bihat.
In 2007 he graduated in Geography from the College of Commerce in Patna with 1st class. On the other side he also started showing involvement in political matters as Community Party of India has a stronghold in the village where he belongs to. Therefore, he joined All India Students Association (AISA) and an year later he was selected as a member at its conference in Patna. He was very intelligent and serious with his studies. After completing masters in sociology from the Nalanda University, Patna, with 1st class result, he moved to Delhi.
Kanhaiya Kumar was ranked 1st after clearing his JNU entrance exams in 2011, and hence he joined JNU for further studies. Kanhaiya Kumar became the 1st AISF member in September, 2015 where he became the president of the JNU student union leader.
