Lonavala, 28th June 2026: The investigation into the alleged murder of 26-year-old businessman Ketan Agarwal reached a crucial stage on Sunday as Pune Rural Police conducted a detailed crime scene reconstruction at Lohagad Fort with the two arrested accused, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary.

The reconstruction exercise was carried out under heavy police security and supervised by Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill. Investigators took the accused to the exact spot where Ketan allegedly fell into a nearly 400-foot-deep gorge on June 18.

According to police officials, the exercise was conducted to verify the statements made by the accused during interrogation and recreate the sequence of events leading to Ketan’s death. Officers examined the route taken by the trio, their movements near the cliff edge, and the alleged actions that resulted in the fatal fall. Police believe the findings will play a key role in strengthening the prosecution’s case.

As part of the ongoing investigation, police have also seized Chetan Chaudhary’s motorcycle, which was allegedly used to travel to Lonavala on the day of the incident. Forensic experts have collected the hoodie and headphones reportedly worn by Chaudhary during the visit and sent them for forensic examination. Investigators believe these items could provide crucial evidence.

Meanwhile, a video that has surfaced on social media has added another dimension to the investigation. The footage allegedly shows Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary together at a local cricket match, where investigators believe the two first became close. Police suspect the video supports their claim that the duo were in a relationship before Siya’s engagement to Ketan Agarwal.

Investigators have further alleged that Siya’s family was aware of the relationship but went ahead with her engagement to Ketan despite her reluctance to marry him. Police are examining whether family pressure and other circumstances contributed to the alleged conspiracy. As part of the investigation, Siya’s parents have also been questioned.

The case, initially registered as an accidental fall during a visit to Lohagad Fort, took a dramatic turn after investigators claimed to have uncovered evidence suggesting that Ketan’s death was the result of a premeditated murder. Police have alleged that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary conspired to kill Ketan due to personal and relationship-related reasons.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government has decided to conduct the trial in a fast-track court following a meeting between Ketan Agarwal’s family and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Senior advocate and Rajya Sabha MP Ujjwal Nikam has been appointed as the Special Public Prosecutor to represent the state.

On the other hand, senior lawyer Aashutosh Srivastava is representing Siya.

The police custody of both accused is scheduled to end on June 29. Investigators are expected to rely on forensic evidence, electronic data, and the findings from the crime scene reconstruction while preparing the chargesheet.
