Kondhwa, 26th April 2026: The spirit of Sikh heritage and unity was on full display at Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar in Lullanagar, where children and youth gathered to celebrate Khalsa Sirjana Divas with devotion and enthusiasm. The event blended spiritual learning, historical awareness and community service, offering a meaningful experience for the younger generation.
The programme began with a session on the Mool Mantar, the foundational prayer of Sikhism. Children were introduced to the core principles of oneness, truth and divine understanding, helping them connect with the spiritual roots of the faith.
A key highlight was an engaging explanation of the Panj Pyare — the Five Beloved Ones — whose initiation by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699 marked the birth of the Khalsa. Their story of courage and sacrifice was presented as an enduring example of faith and commitment.
The Tarun Jatha (Youth Khalsa Group) presented an overview of Sikh history, tracing its journey from the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in 1469 to the establishment of the Khalsa Panth. The presentation emphasised how the teachings of equality, justice and service shaped a distinct identity that continues to inspire generations.
The youth also explained the significance of the five Takhats, the highest seats of authority in Sikhism, giving participants an understanding of the spiritual and administrative framework guiding the global Sikh community.
In addition to discussions and presentations, the event focused on practical learning through Langar Sewa. Children actively took part in serving food, reflecting the values of humility, equality and selfless service central to Sikh philosophy.
The event concluded with a message on the importance of preserving cultural and spiritual heritage, highlighting the need to keep the values of faith, service and unity alive among future generations.
