Kids teach elders importance of planting trees

Pune, 1 July: A tree plantation drive took place at a cemetery in Dighi. The drive was organised by Gyandeep, an NGO working for orphan children.
A series of dignitaries graced the event by their presence. It includeded corporaters Mr. Chandrakant Walekar and Mrs Ashatai Supe, president and vice president of the organisation. About 80 enthusiastic children took part in the event with full spirit and dedication. Trees like Vad, Pimple, Chilee, lemon are some of the type of the plants which were there in the plantation process among 80 trees.
In the speech Mr. Amit Deshmukh, superintendent of the children home, expressed his happiness. He also repeated the promise of the organisation to expand this initiative and take it to the scale of 2 crores trees in few years.
He said “Today’s success of the event makes me very proud on my children and their spirit and we will continue it as long as possible. We will expand it to large extent in future”.
